December 24, 2004, Carmel, CA - An introductory and free bagpipe lesson is available from 5 to 6 p.m. each Tuesday for adults and children age 8 and up, at York School Music Building, 9501 York Road, Monterey. Michel d’Avenas, a graduate of Robert Louis Stevenson School, is an award-winning bagpiper with more than 30 years of bagpipe teaching experience. Since 1997, d’Avenas has been pipe major of the award-winning Monterey Bay Pipe Band and is also involved with launching the Monterey Bay School of Piping which will be held June 12-17, 2005 at Stevenson School.
